Creating, Importing, and Assigning Student Accounts
On the "Students" page under the Go To menu, you may create student accounts and assign students to specific classes.
Click Go To -> Students.
Add Student: Create your student accounts here.
The first and last name are the only details required. However, you'll want to ensure an ID or Email and Student Key are set up to add them via the "Join Code" feature (listed below) if you wish to set up those student accounts. The key will just be a simple password for that student.
Import Students: You can use this to import an existing list of students. Just click the “Choose File” button and select the file you wish to upload. Then, click the “Import File” button. For a sample of what the uploaded file should look like, you can use the “click here” link.
Assign Students: Using this feature, you can assign students to your various classes by dragging them from one column to another. Adjust which class you are assigning by using the drop-down menu in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Generate Join Code: Use this button to generate codes or a join URL to your specific classes. This allows students to join classes directly, so you won't need to assign students to specific classes.
You can share these codes with students to allow students to join your classes. Click the "Allow students to create a NEW planbook account" button to allow students to create a new account when using the join code.
Click the "Email to me" or "Download Links" button to have those codes sent to you.
Students can then access Planbook.com and click the "Student View" button. Here, they can click "Have a join code?" to enter the code and connect with your class.
Sort by Grade button: Use this button (located in the upper-right corner of the "Students" page) to show only students under a specific grade level.
Edit Students: After you have added your students, simply click a name in the list to edit that student's account.
Comments: Click the message bubble icon in the upper-right corner of the screen to add comments for a specific student. Student's will see the message bubble icon in the upper-right corner of the screen with an exclamation point appearing if a comment has been left. Please note - Comments will only appear for teachers attached to a school account.
