  2. Combine days for 2 lessons in one day.

There are times I can start a lesson on one day but need to continue into the next. I would not like to bump the whole day, but be able to combine the days so that I can finish the first and do the second.

Also works for things your brain fries on like planning for Labor Day because you do certain things on Monday but since we aren't there, we need to combine those with Tuesday.

  3. Add music standards national or by state (WI)

I would like to have access to music standards within your program. It would save the time of having to look for the standards, copy, paste, etc.

  4. Import a lesson (or lessons) from the previous school year

It would be great if I could select a few lessons from the previous year, copy it, and then select the days of this school year that I would like to paste it into.

You can use the import feature to import lessons from a prior year. Go to the Classes page, select a class, select import, select My Classes, and then select the year, class, and date range for lessons to import. If you have any questions, please contact us at support@planbook.com

    Thanks!

This may not seem intuitive, but we think of items such as lunch, recess, dismissal, etc. as “classes” rather than “events”. If you create a class for each of these, then these items will be skipped when you have no school days, and you can add specific information on any day if needed (such as when you are having lunch with a group of students). Hope that helps, any questions please let us know!

    Hi Jodi,

What’s happening is you have a template for your Pre K 4 Yr Olds class, which is Circle Time. When you delete a lesson, it will automatically add the template back in. The workaround is to simply put in a space character in the lesson, which will cause it to ignore the template. Hope that helps. If you have any questions or problems, please contact us at support@planbook.com

    Thanks,

    Amy

  10. Substitute plans

I love planbook.com because it is so easy to print out my plans for a sub. However, I like to be able to have a set of emergency sub plans ready just in case. It would be great if there was a place to store a set of general sub plans!

Substitute Notes provide you with a place to store general classroom information that would be helpful to a substitute teacher. This may include a list of students with special needs, classroom rules, bathroom procedures, transition activities, who to contact with questions, etc. Substitute Notes can also be used to store a set of general plans for your substitute teacher to follow. When you will have a substitute teacher for your class, you simply print out your daily lesson plans, print out your Substitute Notes, and leave them on your desk. You can also save your plans and notes to a PDF file, and send them via email if you are not able to return to your classroom.

  11. Different colours for classes

Colours are limited, but many shades available. I would prefer many different colours rather than shades.

    Hi Jackie,

If you right click on a lesson, select copy, right click on another lesson, and select paste, you can copy all lesson information (including standards). Hope this helps. If you have any questions, please contact us at support@planbook.com.

    Thanks,

  13. I would like to see a way for a preschool teacher to use these plans. I only teach 3 days a week.

Be able to set up plans for 2, 3, or 4 day weeks. The rotating plan does not work because it assumes you are on a 5 day week.
    Make preschool standards available also

  15. Provide Lesson Action functionality for IPAD users.

The copy/delete/paste feature isn't supported on the iPAD. It would be insanely useful to be able to copy/paste the "Days" without having to go in section by section and manually adjusting things.

  18. Please add: ISTE® (International Society for Technology in Education) Technology Learning Standards

I teach Computer Tech. to Pre-k-6th grade. In addition to the NYS & Common Core Learning Standards, we use the ISTE-NETS standards. Could these be added?
Here are the links showing the general and the detailed (by grade level) standards:

  19. Could you add the ability to export data to .csv, .xls or even .txt formats?

Could you add the ability to export data from individual lessons to .csv, .xls or even .txt formats? This would allow me to use my current mail-merge lesson plan template to print out my lessons (that go in my plan book) without having to type or copy/paste much of the info twice. (once for the lesson itself, once for the plan book.) Thanks!

  20. Printable lesson plans

Our principal requires us to turn in paper copies of our weekly lesson plans. I would like a way to print the pages with the standards listed.
