Allow units with lessons NOT tied to dates
I like the unit option you added. However, it was not exactly what I expected. I am hoping for a unit version where I can type a series of lesson in and then, assign a date or "plug it in" to my planbook at a later time. Also, a function to print all the lessons in my unit on one document as I often have to hand in unit plans to my administrator (Now I can only print the unit summary and the lesson titles now the actual lessons). I appreciate planbook.com SO very much! However, I find the unit function not as useful as I had hoped.
Sincerely,
Amy

Planbook.com now offers a “Lesson Bank”! Lesson banks allow you to store away lessons and units, and then add them to your schedule when appropriate. To learn more: https://planbook.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1193191-lesson-bank

It's great having the unit option, but it would be nice if I could shift an entire unit in my plans. For example, this year I have to change the order of my Science units. It would be nice if I could simply enter the start date for the unit and the lessons for that whole unit could simply be inserted and any other lessons could just be shifted out.

This idea could easily be combined with my Create A Lesson Bank idea.

This is exactly what I was looking for when I started searching for online planning tools and found planbook. Although I am very impressed with the website, it would be great if we could create <<folders>> of lessons for units and then plug-in the dates at a later time, also useful if you're teaching multiple units within a same subject class. Teachers tend to plan backwards (Long Range, Unit, then Lesson), this would be an amazing, useful feature to have!

This is exactly what I want and expressed so much better than my suggestion.

Yes, this is what I had in mind also.

I concur with Amy. I'd like to be able to build all the lessons for a unit. Then assign a date range and have the unit lessons automatically populate the dates so I do not have to copy-paste each lesson. I am also hoping the units/lessons I build this year will be available next year.

I think it would be convenient to have access to all the units I have ever created when I go the unit page, regardless of what year I am looking at. Then, each year, I can just assign new dates and my plans would fill in automatically. That would be much easier than importing lessons from specific dates from the year before, especially since some of my units span a few days out of many weeks.

I would like to frame a unit with the dates/deadlines and then do some backwards planning on the Unit Plan by adding lessons after the Unit is set up.

I agree, I would like to be able to type in all my lessons for a given unit and then plug it into applicable dates so I don't have to retype each year.

Select the unit and select dates you want it to populate classes in your planbook.

I think it would be a great addition to have a lesson plan/unit library not tied to a class or date range. This library would store all our lesson in a safe place that we can simply pick for a particular class year to year instead of importing to recycle old lesson. Although we can save unit plans, there is no way to do so with standalone lessons and there is no method to just use one lesson from a unit. This would simply the entire experience in my opinion allowing us to save even more time, especially in the beginning of the year.

I have really enjoyed being able to create units. However I would like to create my unit lessons first, and then select which lessons to teach during my teaching week/month. (Rather than vice versa)

I agree!! I like to plan my unit lessons during the summer and keep them in holding. I then assign a date as it approaches. I am a new planbook.com user and I would love to enter in all my lessons from my word documents, but I definitely do not want to put them in my lesson plans with a set date. My goal would be to use the Unit feature as a holding pen for POSSIBLE lessons, not definite lessons.

I would like to create the lessons in the unit without assigning a date. While planning in the summer we don't have our full schedules. For example, our phys ed times are either twice a week for 40 minutes or 4 ties a week for 20 minutes. There are other situations where programs throughout the year have not been schedules such as our VIP program and swim to survive program.
