1. offer custom sharing options.

I would like to share my lesson plans with parents. However, with the current plan book sharing options, they would be allowed to see my small guided reading group plans that include names & reading levels.

    Hi Lynn,

On your Sharing page, you can use the button labeled Download Links. This will give you a document containing links to view individual classes. Please take a look, and if you have any questions please send us an email at support@planbook.com.

    Thank you,

    Chris

  2. Add Dodea music standards

I love planbook.com but need the standards for music for Dodea. Can you add those? If not, is there a way I can manually enter them?

    Hi Karen,

We would be happy to add your desired standards. However, we are currently overwhelmed with Standards requests. The quickest way to have your standards added would be to submit a spreadsheet to support@planbook.com with the desired standards set up in this format (columns moving left):

    Starting Grade,
    Ending Grade,
    Subject Name,
    Category Name,
    Standard ID,
    Standard Description.

After we receive that, we can add them into our database. In the mean time, you may be able to take advantage of our My List feature located under the Go To menu. Here you can add items to be applied to lessons just as standards.
You may need to activate your My List tab in Display under the Go To menu.

If you have any questions, please let send us an email at support@planbook.com.

    Thank you,

    Chris

    Hi there,

Could you please let me know which state this is relating to? Also, would you please send us a link to the correct standards? I will forward that to our development team to update our system. You can send your message to support@planbook.com. If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Chris

  4. troubleshoot

Dear planbook - I love this, and i've been using it for a whole two weeks now.
When I set up my timetable I thought I was going crazy though, because it seemed like events and classes would jump around a little, and times for classes would change, and sometimes notes would go missing. However, I perservered and succeeded. But now I log in for planning this afternoon to find that since this morning, two or three of my classes have swapped days and times.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's the syncing with the…

  5. Option for blank lines in new classes

It would be nice if when I create a class I can make it 2 or 3 blanks lines big so I can print and write in it and then transfer that to the program because I can't always have the program with me when planning.

  7. Color-coding gets lost when deleting and back-spacing.

I like to color code things on my lesson plans (e.g. see for yourself http://planbook.com/student?t=1009933&k=romeo ). I am a believer that color-coding things makes things clearer to kids. However, when I edit plans, usually whenever I backspace/delete anything, whatever color-formatting I have will become blank. For instance, for Algebra I'm making "Daily Objective/Learning Goal," "Activity," "Materials" and "Assessments" all color-coded in burgundy font with yellow background. I'm making "IN-CLASS" and "HW" black font with yellow background. However, whenever I randomly hit "delete" or "backspace" (as is obviously always needed when editing plans), whatever above mentioned color formatting I have done…

Can you send a note when one can move a specific class to a different day? For specialists, sometimes I need to move a class to a different day. Thanks.

  10. Overview Video

Hello! We are presenting planbook.com to our colleagues at a faculty meeting in hopes to get people to sign up. I was wondering if there is a video that would give them a short preview of it's capabilities. . If not, it would be nice. We only have 5-10 min to show them how awesome it is and it is hard to show an overview in that time....

  12. update Indiana's standards to the newest system.

Very recently, Indiana has adopted its own version of the Common Core, with different wording in some areas and different numbering/coding. We'll need these as standard options for the next school year. (Indiana's College and Career Readiness Standards)

  14. View options for students

It would be great if I could select which classes my students can view. For instance I teach three different subjects, It would be great if I could have a student view page for each subject.

  18. allow us to click anywhere in the box to edit the lesson.

In the past, I could click anywhere in the box to bring up the lesson editor. Now, I have to click on the colored ribbon at the top. Sometimes, my lessons are long, and I do not want to have to scroll to the top each time I want to change it. It was much easier to click anywhere in the box.

You can double click anywhere in the box to open a lesson, no need to scroll up to the lesson title. Hope that helps, any questions just let us know. Thanks!

  19. please consider including the benchmarks for the AASL Standards for the 21 Century Learner for our library lessons.

Please include the ability to identify the benchmarks for our AASL Standards. Please also consider allowing a template for the lesson which would include Hook, Acquisition, Understanding, Transfer. Is it possible to include TIP chart targets for technology?

  20. Option to skip a day in the six day schedule

We use a six day schedule at our school, but on half days we have alternative classes - so we essentially skip a day. Your calendar allows me to set up a six day schedule which is great, but if I need to pull a day out of the schedule I cannot do that unless I start a new term. I would have to do that every two weeks to accommodate our half days. If I choose the option of "no classes this day" from the edit class menu it does not reset the six days, it just does not…

To set up a “No Cycle” day, click More → Add an Event, and check the No Cycle option. You can then add individual classes to the No Cycle day by clicking More → Add Extra Lesson. Hope that helps, feel free to contact us at support@planbook.com with any questions. Thanks!
