  1. Show tasks from To Do list on plans

I would like tasks that have a due date to appear on my plans like an event, so that I can see when deadlines are approaching.

To allow teachers to quickly view upcoming items, we have added a Reminders panel, to show events, classwork, notes and To Dos that are due in the next 7 days.

To view the Reminders panel, click the "Reminders" icon in the upper right corner of your Plans page.

  2. Cubby

for the last three years,my team has used Planbookedu.com. This next year our school purchased Planbook.com, so I am transferring my plans over. One thing that we agree that we desperately miss from our previous planning site, is that they had a feature called Cubby. This is an AMAZING feature. It acted as a holding spot and allowed you to drag things over and keep util you needed it. Something to research.

Good news! You can now create and manage your class schedule with our new “Schedule View” option. This allows you to see your entire schedule at once, and drag/drop to add classes or adjust times for each day. Click Go To > Classes > Schedule View to give it a try!

  4. allow text in the grade box in the grade book.

in my special education class, not all assignments are for all students. I'd like to be able to put a code like N/A in the box w/o it effecting the overall grade. This also helps me scan the class assignment column and see exactly who hasn't complete an assignment. Now I have to look at each student individually and hope I wrote a note about why I don't have the assignment.

We now allow letter codes to signify when a lesson is excused, incomplete, or missing. Hope that helps! Do not hesitate to contact us at support@planbook.com with any questions. Thanks!

  6. Notes only for indicated class - when duplicating class

I teach three sections of the same class and try to use the same basic plan for each. THere are times when I need to make notes for a particular section, but when I type in the notes for the time period I want it still duplicates to all three. It would be really great it there was a check box on the notes tab to indicate whether it should be duplicated or not; or just not duplicate the notes, so I can make adjustments for the section that needs them. It really wastes paper and ink to copy a…

Good news, we have added Lesson Linking to Planbook! Rather than copying lessons from a lesson bank or between classes, you can now create a LINK to the source lesson. This means that any changes you make will automatically show in ALL places where the lesson in linked!

When you link a lesson, you also have the ability to add your own unique information, such as notes, that is not shared with all other linked lessons.

  7. Allow fixed calendar

For example if Monday is an A day and Tuesday (B day) is a Snow Day, Wednesday should stay and A day.

In the add event/add no school day menu, there are options for "no school day", "private event", and "no cycle day".

I suggest making it so that if "no cycle day" is not checked but "no school day" is checked, the missed day counts as a cycle day.

To avoid confusion and an extra step for any who don't have a fixed calendar, have the "no cycle day" option automatically get selected when "no school day" is selected…

  8. Change default field from password in timeout login prompt

If I've been away from the computer for a bit and then double click on a lesson to edit, the software allows me to do this. But when I start typing, the login prompt pops up right in the middle causing me to type extra characters into my password. Can you make it so that the password field is not the default field when the window pops up?

When creating a View on the Sharing Options page, you can now include “View Notes” to store information such as emergency and sub plans. These notes can then be seen by administrators who view your plans. Hope this helps, any questions please let us know!

  10. Set font/size for Cycle Day headers

Have more options for fonts and sizes for cycle day numbers. I'd like to have it equal in size to the date/day.

The font and size for Cycle Day headers will now be based on the default font and size you select for your plans!

To adjust the default font and size, click "User Settings" > "Display Settings" > "General", and select your preferred Font Family and Font Size.

  11. Add border to editors

Just loaded Planbook today and now have the new form. It has no solid boarder and not having a boundary and contrast with the web page behind is driving me crazy. Please make it look like the old one!

  12. Unify the student view

Unify the student view so that students by default see the plans for every class they’re in (without having to toggle between teachers), at least for an overview.

  13. Archive Lesson Banks

With so many classes over the past few years, I have a huge collection of courses that I am not teaching right now. If we could archive the courses that are listed in the bank, it would make it a bit easier to read through the list of banked material.

We recommend using the bank name as a simple way to track (and sort) lesson banks.  We hope this helps, any questions please let us know at support@planbook.com

  14. Entering lessons by subject

I would like to be able to plan one subject for the whole week and then have the program add it to the lesson plan instead of finding the subject each day to update the plan. I teach the same subject at a variety of times so I am always searching for the subject.

15. offer individualized "live" sharing options for personal accounts (not district-wide)

I need to collaborate / share my plans with a long-term sub. However, I am the only teacher at my school who uses Planbook.com.

Currently, I can only share a link with a student key for a set time period. I would like for my students to only be able to view the current week, but I need the ability for a long-term sub to be able to view farther in advance, through a link (not PDF), so he/she can view lessons in their current, up-to-date state as I add them.

  16. Unit Materials,Standards and Instructional Strategies

It would be great if we could set up unit materials, lesson instruction and objectives from the beginning of setting up the unit. If it can be like the current standards with a box to generate the same info for all the lessons under that unit. As an ELL teacher much of my information is shared for multiple classes and materials don't change. It's too tedious to copy/paste for each lesson. I need to have it just in case a sub is used for my class.

  18. Print Lesson Button

Your print lesson button in the lesson bank hasn't been working for a while. It still works in the plans though? I've sent multiple messages, but haven't heard back.

  19. Allow units to be assigned to TEACHER, and not a class/year.

Create a TEACHER lesson bank, organized by units. Allow teachers to assign the lesson they create to a unit, and be able to access that unit/lesson bank from ANY class ANY year.

You can now create Lesson Banks, with units and lessons, to store curriculum outside of your class schedule.

Lesson Linking, when combined with Lesson Banks, provides teachers and schools with a powerful curriculum management tool. Teachers can collaborate on the development of curriculum (classes, units, lessons), store the curriculum in lesson banks, and set permissions for who can view or edit the banks.

Teachers can then either COPY or LINK the lesson banks into their plans. COPY will allow teachers to create a new set of lessons that are solely for their individual use. LINK will establish a link to the source lesson, such that any changes made will automatically show in both the source and the target lessons of the link.

  20. Show one lesson at a time

When I use minus or plus buttons in lessons bank, all lessons are shown or hidden together. It would be interesting to hide or show only one lesson at a time.
