Create a Lesson Bank
I'd like to see a "holding tank" where I could store lessons. Within this archive, units and lessons could be fleshed out, shifted, shuffled, grouped, labelled and organized.

Sometimes I find myself planning for a topic that is going to take multiple days to complete. I would like to be able to make my plans (with NO date on them) and lay them out on my desk. This way, I do not have to reprint the same plans because the date at the top changed.

This would solve a lot of my frustrations. I would also love it if, when pulling from the lesson bank, I could choose which fields to copy/import into a classroom. That way I could pull the main lesson information, but still customize other fields to fit the new class.
Hope that makes sense.

@tgarduno - you've captured a lot of what I'd like to be able to do in Planbook with my idea. Sure hope the Planbook people will listen. Just curious-- what's wrong with "lesson bank"? :-)

I love the idea of a lesson bank. I'm not sure if that's what I would call it. I'm thinking of a place to store all lessons and then I can drag and drop them into the correct day. The sequence of my year changes from year to year. Sometimes we are using the same basic idea but we have less time to do it in for a variety of reasons. I would love to be able to at the beginning of the year - start with a blank calendar and then as I need the lessons drag and drop them into a specific date or move current lessons created out of the calendar to be used at a non-specific later date.

At the moment, I am actually using "My List" as my lesson bank. It actually works well.
But yes, there is a need for it to be separate. :) -

Absolutely; this would be of great help.

As a math support teacher, I create lessons for five grade levels in the building. There are five other math support teachers in the district doing the same thing and we would like to share lessons among us. We all use the same intervention program, but not the same concept, unit, or lesson at the same time. When sharing a lessons, I have to share all of my classes, which is fine. But they would then have to look through the classes for a particular lesson, which is very tedious.
Having a lesson bank would be incredibly helpful! In this way, I can simply share a cache of lessons by concepts and units. I did try to use the unit feature, but that didn’t give me exactly what I am looking for...please consider adding this feature! :-)

This is exactly what I was thinking!!! I'd love to type up all of my math lessons and easily find and use them again the next year. It would also be great to have a "Save to Lesson Bank" button added to current lessons so we wouldn't have to type them in again when/if this feature is added.

YES!!!! I teach literature, but I don't use every book every year, nor do I use every lesson from each unit. I need a place to safely store 20 years of teaching and grab from it whenever I need it.

I agree. I would love a lesson bank because I often teach my units at different times during the semester and it's time consuming to go back to previous years (especially at the beginning of the school year) and find the lesson so I can copy and paste it.

Please do this! This is the same as "Not specifying a date for Unit lessons", which I commented on also. This flexibility would be phenomenal!

I would totally create a lesson bank for teachers to click and use. It would be great to pat then grade specific!

I think it would be great to have a place to save lessons that we loved (by subject), but may not sure when we would use them again this year. It could be a database of lessons to draw from of our own lessons.

I forwarded my lessons from last year to this year, but many of the lessons do not correlate to the same time frame, nor do the attached documents. While definitely convenient for a teacher who has nearly the same curriculum from year-to-year, perhaps a lesson/attachment bank to store them and we could "click" on a date, then "click" on the lesson needed. I just changed a lesson from a day with an attachment. Not sure when I will get to the lesson this year, but would be nice to send the attachment to a "bank" so I can find it easier when I do get to that lesson, and not have to search for it within all the weeks of plans.

I am very much in need of a place to bank my lesson plans so that I can move units around to different times of the year. I am a PE teacher and we share equipment within our district. Sometimes we need to flex what we teach when. Using the "bump" feature just doesn't cut it. I need the flexibility to move lessons beyond importing them for the entire year. Please help as I am fully enjoying Planbook.

It would help when planning for the next year to be able to access the bank rather than having to go back and forth copying and pasting lessons from year to year. I very seldom teach the exact things the exact week of school from year to year. I would like to have my lessons grouped by unit and in the new year be able to arrange them in a new order.

I'm an activity teacher. I see every class, every grade once a week (500 kids). I need a way were I can see the grade/class without assigning it to a day. Otherwise my lesson plans are 17 pages long. You see, every grade does, basically, the same thing every week. I don't need to see that I have 3rd grade on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on the calendar. I need to see just 3rd Grade. Can I drop the calendar?

Instead of mass-copying lessons into my lesson planbook when starting a new year, it would be nice to click a "select from archive" button in the "add a lesson" window. This way, you can easily select the desired lesson from last year's collection, modify it as needed, and assign it to the appropriate date. Importing all the lessons from the previous year makes it very hard to keep track of what has been intentionally planned for this year.
