Have a Unit option
It would be helpful if I could tie lessons to a specific unit which would automatically insert the standards and objectives into every lesson of the unit. This would also make importing lessons from last year easier because I could easily import the whole unit.
To provide better support for lesson organization and long range planning, we have added support for Class Units. An unlimited number of units can be created for each class, and you can then assign standards, assignments, assessments, and lessons to the unit. Units can be as short or long as needed, and can break down a class into weeks, chapters, themes, etc.

Can you add lessons from multiple classes/subjects to a unit? I teach kindergarten and there are often times when I have lessons that are technically part of the same unit, but some of the lessons will be taught during (for example) phonics time and other lessons will be taught during writing, etc.
So lessons that go together but will be taught cross-curricular.
Is this possible as Planbook and Units are now?

I'm still not clear how admin. can see what I've planned for.my unit. On my daily lesson it only has a unit title. When I send a link with a teacher key, can admin. go to the drop down and see the specifics of the unit I'm doing?

How can administration view a teachers unit plan?

Is there a way to assign a unit to multiple classes. I teach elementary PE and have up to 12 classes doing the same unit, and don't want to have to write it over and over.

I have added assignments to a unit with hyperlinks in the assignment editor. But I see no place on my planner or anywhere other than the editor to view the information I typed in the editor. also can't click on the hyperlink in the editor. Where does this assignment open up to be useable?

I would like to add lesson plans into units and not immediately tie them to a date until I determine when I will begin the unit. Is this possible? How do you create multiple lessons in a unit to use later?

It would be great if we could copy a unit to another class period to save time from writing the same things over and over again. Or when it ask to select a class you could select more than one class.

I love that you added this function! I used it today to create my first unit but after I created that unit, selected the date and select that unit in my lessons I didn't see the standards in my lesson plans. I assumed that since I added them in the unit that it would go on each lesson that I select that unit. Am I missing a step?

The unit would be great. If it could have a date option that could be moved forward earlier or later in the year would be great.

Having a unit/curriculum planning option would be invaluable. PLEASE add this!

Piggybacking off comments by Susan Kadlec... I'd like to have a "holding tank" where I could store lessons. Lessons from previous years could also be placed here. Within this archive, lessons could be fleshed out, shifted, shuffled, grouped and organized. In my long range planning I am often not writing and thinking about lessons sequentially. Lessons/units within this holding area could be retrieved and pasted into a specific time and class, later, when needed. I see the Unit option being talked about in this thread as fitting into the "lesson bank". I've created a suggestion with the words "Lesson Bank" in case anyone is in agreement with me.

I have gotten around this problem by simply creating different classes for each unit. This allows me to view the lessons in the list format, and print my lessons for a given unit easily.

PLEASE add this…. I would even pay extra for it. This would prevent me from having to print each week to remember the flow of each unit and /or to move the unit to another place in the year. I could easily go into my unit library, set a date to start it, have it roll into the schedule and individualize from there. Great for us with multi-schedule year round school to collaborate.

Anything that helps me find my lesson plans again the next year only makes me a better teacher. I can be quite detailed and having them the next year to tweak, would be VERY beneficial.

I think this is a great idea and would love the ability to do this. As a science teacher using the NGSS I focus on a few standards in a unit as opposed to one specific standard each day. It would be a great way to track for my school as well.

Perhaps you could add a button within the lesson that will copy or move it to another date, which would still be less tedious than going back and forth to grab lessons.

I love the idea of adding this feature. It would be great to draw from the unit plans instead of trying import from last year...which has various details that only apply to last year.

LOVE, Love, love this idea!!! Please add it...it would make this much more marketable as a whole district sell instead of just individual teachers.

I love this idea...I was going to suggest the same thing. This would make long term planning and curriculum mapping so much easier. So many times you teach different units at different times from the previous year. A total separate unit area would allow you to plan the basic framework, add in the standards and homework media, but allow you to add in the details each year. This would also allow a grade level to work together on curriculum and share the unit they designed together.

I totally agree! I like bringing in lessons from last year so that I can see them, but if I change units, it's such a hassle to delete every single lesson!!
