You can now design room layouts, and create class seating charts, for your students! You can add new layouts and adjust student seating as often as you’d like, add pictures of your students, and “shuffle” seating for random assignments. Select Go To > Class Seating to try it out!

commentedUnable to drag students using Chrome?

Vanessa Day commented I am trying to assign students into the seating chart but it only lets me make a random seating arrangement. How can I control the seating?
-
Melody Bates commented how do you use this feature??? I already have my room layout and my students on planbook. However it won't let me drag the kids names to the spots. How do actually assign a student to a spot? I've tried everything I can think of and searched the FAQ already.

commentedI use tables, not chairs (2 students per table). Is there a way to add tables instead of individual seats?

commentedHow do you add pictures to the student names? I want to add this feature to my seating charts for my subs.

Lisa Cromley commented I am thrilled with the idea of seating charts being added to Planbook. My students also sit in groups, however, so I can't figure out how to adapt the rows option. For some reason, I also cannot figure out how to add any names or photos to the seats. Please help.

commentedI also love this option and it will work very well for substitutes, especially with the images of students added into this. I would love to see the option of tables/benches as well. I teach science, so they are all sitting at lab tables. I found a work around but it would be great to add an option of benches or lab tables. But thank you so much for adding this to the program!

commentedLove the new seating chart option- however it looks as if I only have the option to create rows and columns? My students do not sit that way- we sit in groups, would it be possible to create table groups instead of rows?

commentedcan I suggest you add a 'random picker' function alongside this (like one of your rivals). Currently I'm using both systems- Planbook for planning and a.n.other for classroom management (seating plans etc)

commentedHaving a template or a form that will allow us to design a room for layout and then will allow us to add students to a seating chart would be a GREAT addition to this program. This will assist me in learning names in the beginning of the year and will help subs keep track of the class. If I were able to add a small image of the student would be a bonus.

commentedI constantly change seating plans to improve learning and behaviour. If this is enabled on Planbook it would be fantastic. Love using planbook and have been singing it's praises to all my colleagues!

commentedAdditionally, the option to put a picture and a name on the desk would be fantastic for doing sub plans!

commentedIf we could import lists of students from excel for this that would be excellent! I teach a resource class, so I see every single kid in the entire school (that's a lot of names to type). Also a way to alternate boy/girl automatically and a randomize seating option.
