Back-up data to local drive
It would be nice to be able to back-up the data on a local drive. If access to the internet is disrupted during a school day it would be very frustrating and disruptive if you are unable to get to your lesson plans. Also, if you make a major mistake, like erasing a whole class, then you could go back and retrieve the last saved data.

I vote for this too. I would love to move everything to an external drive especially since I spent the year creating units in my bank and am afraid of losing them.

I agree, it's a good back-up to have!

I would love a desktop app like my iPad app that I can access offline. Our school network occasionally has connectivity issues. It is problematic when you can't get online. Plus the planbook server has, in the past, also had issues (only once, but it was enough to stop me from recommending planbook to the rest of the dept and to take a year off to trial other options - I'm back now though! I love planbook)

I like this idea, but wouldn't you need to have a local web server setup? Also, if the software is written in PHP that would be exposed.
